Bio

Mika Aya Azagi, a multidisciplinary artist working predominantly with painting and video installation.

I create oil paintings on canvas that are inspired by natural phenomenons such as impact craters, volcanic eruptions, glaciers, etc. driven by textures, colors and emotion, my work flows between the known and the uncanny, the physical and metaphysical, the exists and the imagined.

my work deals with nature and natural phenomena as the main subject, whether it's a video or a painting , I aim to create a unique viewing perspective that represents my view of the world and to transfer these feelings to the viewer.

I explore the way nature is part of who we are, and i tend to integrate the body within the work itself. the connection to the primary and the sublime, is a strong element in my video work as well as in my painting process.

in other aspects of my work, i show the change in nature life cycles, and the results of human existence on our world.
